Associate Pastor

Ben Schori

I was called to Nativity in the fall of 2017 to serve as Associate Pastor of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry; then in the summer of 2022 became Pastor of Faith Formation, providing support and supervision to the leaders of CYF Ministry, Adult Faith Formation, and Worship.

My wife Melissa and I have two daughters: Johanna, born in 2016, and Isla, born in 2018. We also have a mini Australian Shepherd named Layla.

I grew up in the Twin Cities suburb of Eagan, and attended Luther College in Decorah, IA where I graduated in 2010, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. I then attended Luther Seminary in Saint Paul where I graduated in 2014, earning a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.

For my first call, I served as the Pastor of First Lutheran Church of Hibbing, MN. I served the good people of First Lutheran and the greater Iron Range community for over three years, before God’s call led me to Nativity.

I have a passion for leading worship and preaching, sharing the good news of God’s grace for all people through the love of Jesus Christ, and encouraging others in the good and challenging work of the church today. I also have a passion and love for leading youth through the Confirmation experience. I love nurturing, challenging, and encouraging youth as they grow in faith.

I love being a pastor of the ELCA. I love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and superheroes. I am a geek. I love being active. I love my family and friends. And, as an extrovert, I love engaging in great conversations. So, please don’t hesitate to come say “Hello” because it will probably make my day.​
