May

May 23 & 24 – 7th Sunday of Easter

Worship Time:

Make the sign of the cross (Touch forehead, then heart. Touch one shoulder, then the other.)
As you make the cross say, “Love God, Love Neighbor”

Offering: How will you make an offering today?

Sing: Thank you, God for giving us life. Thank you, God for giving us life. Thank you, God for
giving us life. Right where we are! (Insert basic needs today: air, food, hugs, etc.)

Alleluia, praise the Lord! Alleluia, praise the Lord! Alleluia, praise the Lord! Right where we are!

Pray: Thank you God for our many blessings! Help us to be thankful for the things we need
every day: food and water and a place to live and people to take care of us. Thank you for giving
us Jesus, who loves us now and always. AMEN

Read the Bible:

1 Corinthians 15:1-5

Sharing and Discussion

Have you ever had a school assignment where you were asked to figure out the main idea? To
read a story or paragraph and decide what is the most important thing to learn or remember?
In these bible verses, Paul is reminding the early churches in Corinth to remember the most
important thing about being a Christian…EASTER!! Can you tell someone in your family what is
so important about Easter? Jesus took away our sin by dying on the cross and then he beat
death by rising up again. We can be forgiven and saved from our mistakes and be with God
forever if we accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus offers us.

Activity choices

Bread of Life
Bread is often considered one of the most basic foods to keep us alive. Jesus is sometimes
called the “Bread of Life”, and in the Lord’s Prayer we say, “give us this day our daily bread”.
Here’s a link to an easy recipe where the bun also reminds us of the empty tomb and Jesus’
resurrection.

The Gift of Water
Water plays a critical part in our daily life and also when we join God’s family. Dip your finger in
water and make a cross on each other’s hand. Say the Easter words, “He is Risen Indeed!
Alleluia!” (Extra art: Get some watercolors and paint gift boxes. Label them with blessings,
family, food, pets, toys, etc.)
