Church Wide Initiative

Our mission at Nativity is Jesus’ greatest commandment for his followers: Love God and Love Neighbor. We appreciate the many ways you, our community, express your Love for God and your Love for Neighbor in and beyond Nativity every day. This includes participating in programming at Nativity like faith formation, volunteering, outreach ministry, and anything in-between! It can also take the form of service outside of Nativity or even silent meditation at home. This diversity of expression—what it means, looks like, and feels like to Love God and Love Neighbor—is what makes our community spiritually rich and allows us all to thrive!

And, so, we are looking to celebrate this diversity through a special initiative! We want to create a customized conversation starter that you can wear celebrating the difference you make every day in the lives of others. This initiative also fosters a collective unity around our diverse ways of Loving God and Neighbor, in and outside the walls of Nativity.

While we most importantly want to affirm you, we would also like to better appreciate the diverse expressions of Love for God and Neighbor in our community. This understanding helps us to tell the story of our individual and collective impacts—demonstrating to the surrounding community that they will know we are Christians by our love.

Please take 5 minutes to let us know how you choose to Love God and Love Neighbor! We will then print you a custom t-shirt showing some of your chosen expressions of sharing Christ’s love in the world.

We will host a special blessing of the congregation during worship on “God’s Work. Our Hands” Weekend (September 7-8), a time when we will celebrate the work of Loving God and Loving Neighbor and the impact we make individually and together. We encourage you to wear your t-shirts that weekend as a fun opportunity to get to know each other more intimately with your chosen expressions of Loving God and Loving Neighbor to break the ice!

Note: Shirt order forms are due August 22. Later orders will be printed but won’t be available by “God’s Work. Our Hands” Weekend.

While we may need to consolidate some answers in order to meet the needs of our printing partners, please don't limit yourself! Include anything you consider to be applicable inside or outside the walls of Nativity.
Again, please, don't limit yourself! Include anything you consider to be applicable inside or outside the walls of Nativity.
Please pick up your t-shirt anytime after we announce that they have arrived. If you can, please wear it on "God's Work. Our Hands" Weekend.
