As part of Nativity’s Racial Equity & Justice Ministry Month at Nativity, the REJM team is hosting a screening of a feature-length documentary called A Case for Love, which aims to change the national narrative of division. Far too often these days, we’re called to pick our corners, seeing the world from an “us versus them” point of view. This documentary breaks down those divisions, emphasizing how, as one viewer says, “kindness and love connect us all.”
The documentary features interviews with some well-known figures, including Bishop Michael Curry, politicians from both sides of the aisle, actors, and faith leaders representing different religions—but also interviews with everyday people like ourselves, people who are asked where they’ve witnessed unselfish love and where they’ve seen its absence. There are a few core stories of people who have lived through hard times. They share the difference love made for them and how they’re making a difference for others now.
All are welcome for the screening after our 10:30 worship. A light lunch will be served before the screening begins.
