Welcome Video
This week we celebrate the Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness! Luther Park Day Camp was so “kind” to offer to let us record their Camp Worship so we can all enjoy the joy of camp fun! How kind!
Worship Together
Share in some faith practices of worship together!
Shine a Light: Light a candle or find a flashlight. Take turns saying, “Jesus’ light shines in me.”
Sing Together: Pick one of the camp songs to sing together!
Make an Offering: How can you give an offering today? It could be time, talent, or treasure!
Read the Bible Together
Read this week’s God’s Great Story in the children’s Bible for you child’s age.
Spark Story Bible Baby Moses / Exodus 15:1-21
Talk About It!
Have fun asking question for all your family members!
Enjoy one of our Luther Park Day Camp Bible Lessons:
We are going to read about Moses and his sister Miriam. She plays an important role in the life of Moses and the history of our world. Miriam helped saved baby Moses from being killed by the ruler at the time. She had wisdom to know what to do and bravery to do what she had to do.
How did Miriam feel about God? (She was grateful and happy for what God had done in her life and the Israelite’s lives)
How can you tell that Miriam was happy with what God had given the Israelites? (she played tambourines, danced and sang)
What are you thankful for? Just like Miriam we can respond with prayers of thanks to God, what are ways you tell or show God that you are thankful for the people/things in your life? (ex: singing, dancing, praying, writing, drawing, etc.) What are ways you thank people in your life for the things they do? (ex: cards, words of thanks, gifts, hugs, etc.)
Digging Deeper (great topics for Upper Elementary): How do you know the Holy Spirit is guiding you? How do you know God is talking to you? What stories have you heard about God guiding or directing other people’s lives?
Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together with supplies you have around your house!
Back-tionary: Supplies: Paper & Writing Utensils – Sit in a line. Have a grown up think of a simple object, like a sun or moon or a fish, then use their finger to “draw” it on another’s back. The one being “drawn” on will use the paper and writing utensil to really draw what they think the grown up is “Drawing” on their back. Announce what was supposed to be drawn on their back and see if it matches. Give everyone a turn. Talk about is it was easy or hard to be “guided” by each other. How is that like listening to God?
Pray Together
“Dear God, We give thanks for Miriam. From her story we see her trust in you and the courage and strength she had to do what is right. Thank you God for knowing all of our being, Jesus for loving and encouraging every single part of us and the Holy Spirit for leading us. We pray that you help us to stay strong and courageous as you use our stories to build your kingdom. Amen.”
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Try a camp favorite blessing; the Trucker Peace! Pump your arm like you’re pulling the horn on a truck twice and then bump forearms while saying, “Honk, honk, peace!”
