Worship Together
Share in some faith practices of worship together!
Shine a Light: Make a light (candle, flashlight, light switch) and say, “Jesus is the light of the world!”
Sing Together: Thank You, God: Name three things you are thankful for today.
Make an Offering: How will you make an offering today?
Read the Bible Together
Talk About It!
Do you like to splash water on your face? Or take a bath? Or go swimming? Why do these things feel so good? Today our story takes us to the Pool of Siloam (sih-LOH-um) where Jesus uses mud and water to give sight to a blind man.
Can you think of some other amazing stories about Jesus and water? Do you remember when Jesus turned water into (pause) wine? Do you remember when Jesus walked on water? Did you know Jesus was baptized in a (pause) river? Again and again, water reminds us that no matter what we say or do, Jesus can wash it away. Jesus forgives us. Jesus loves us. That’s what amazing grace is.
Family Activity Choices
Pick activities to do together! Supplies are provided in our Monthly At-Home Kits you picked up at our drive thru events or ask to have delivered to your home.
Activity: Amazing Grace Watercolor Message Write “Amazing Grace” or another message like “Jesus loves me” in white crayon on white paper. Pro tip: go over the letters several times so they appear bold when uncovered. Using watercolor, uncover this amazing message. If you don’t have watercolors, markers will work, too.
Activity 2: Amazing Grace Listen to a recording of this classic, moving hymn. Some artists I enjoy are Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Tomlin, and Pentatonix.
Pray Together
“Jesus, thank you for our sight, Jesus, love us day and night,We live our life by your great light. Amen.“
Bless Each Other
At the end of your time, give each other a special blessing to remember one of God’s promises.
Make a “P” with your arms and body, then say “Praise God for AMAZING grace!”
